Epilepsy Association Secunderabad IAN Election 2026 Guidelines

Nomination for IAN Election 2026 can be filled up, from Monday, 28th September 2026, 8:00 AM → to Monday, 5th October 2026, 5:00 PM, India Time.

Eligibility Criteria

President-Elect

The candidate for President-Elect must:

Be a Life Member in good standing of IAN for a minimum of 15 years.

Fulfil any 2 of the following 4 conditions:

  • 1 Have served on the Executive Committee (EC) in any elected post for a minimum of 3 years.
  • 2Have served the Academy as Organizing Chairperson or Secretary of any annual IAN conference.
  • 3Be a Fellow of the IAN.
  • 4Have served as Chairperson/Convenor of an IAN subsection for at least one term of 2 years.

The term of the President-Elect shall be 1 year. On completion of the term, the President-Elect shall automatically assume the office of President.

Secretary & Treasurer

The candidate for Secretary or Treasurer must:

  • 1Be a Life Member in good standing of IAN for a minimum of 10 years.
  • 2Have served on the Executive Committee for a minimum of 3 years.

The term of office shall be 3 years.

The Secretary/Treasurer shall be eligible for re-election to the same post for one additional term of 3 years only.

Editor, AIAN

The candidate for Editor, AIAN must:

  • 1Be a Life Member in good standing of IAN for a minimum of 10 years.
  • 2Be a Fellow of the IAN.

    • Fulfil either of the following:

  • 3Have served as an elected/co-opted member of the Executive Committee for a minimum of 3 years; OR
  • 4Have served on the Editorial Board of AIAN/Neurology India as Associate Editor/Assistant Editor for a minimum of 3 years.

The term of office shall be 3 years.

The Editor shall be eligible for re-election to the same post for one additional term of 3 years only.

CME Convener

The candidate for CME Convener must:

  • 1Be a Life Member in good standing of IAN for a minimum of 10 years.
  • 2Be a Fellow of the IAN.
  • 3Have served as an Editorial Board Member or Reviewer of articles in an indexed journal in neurosciences for a minimum of 3 years.

The term of office shall be 3 years.

The CME Convener shall be eligible for re-election to the same post for one additional term of 3 years only.

Executive Members

The candidate for Executive Committee Member must:

  • 1The EC Members should be Life Member of good standing of the IAN for a minimum period of 7 years.

Nominations Procedure

You will have to login with the following credentials:
  • Your registered Email ID or Mobile Number, and
  • Your Membership Number and Membership Type.
  • Select OTP Delivery Method:

  • Click "Send OTP"
  • OTP will be sent to your
      • Your Registered mobile number via your selected method (WhatsApp or SMS)

      • Your Registered Email ID
  • OTP Page will appear after clicking "Send OTP."
  • Please enter this 6-digit code
  • You will be able to log in and see the Nomination Form
  • Select the position that you wish to apply for (President Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, Editor, AIAN, CME Convener or Executive Member)
  • Upload your Brief CV (in PDF format only, of file size up to 2 MB). This will be visible to all voters
  • Upload your photograph (in JPG, JPEG, or PNG format, file size up to 2 MB)
  • Depending upon the position you wish to contest for, you are required to enter respective details.
  • You will need to provide a Proposer and Seconder for your nomination. These should be IAN Life Members. They should approve your nomination before the end of the nomination period. You will need to enter their IAN Membership Number & Membership type. The email ID of the said member will be displayed. An email will be sent to both the proposer and seconder. Important: Kindly check with them in advance that their emails are in IAN records. If their emails are not in IAN records, you will not be allowed to submit your application.
  • After filling the nomination form, review all details carefully and click Submit.
  • A message will be displayed that your nomination has been successfully submitted.
Important to note that your Proposer AND Seconder are required to approve your nomination BEFORE Monday, 5th October 2026, 5:00 PM, India Time

Nomination Withdrawal

  • You can withdraw your nomination between Saturday, 3rd October 2026, 8:00 AM to Monday, 12th October 2026, 5:00 PM India Time
  • You can go to the same login link
  • You will receive an OTP on your mobile by WhatsApp or SMS, as well as by email
  • Please enter this 6-digit OTP
  • You will see your nomination
  • There will be an option to withdraw. Click on that
  • A message will be displayed that your nomination has been withdrawn.
Proposers and Seconders (to approve by Monday, 5th October 2026, 5:00 PM, India Time)
  • IAN Members who have been mentioned as Proposer and Seconder will receive an email with a link.
  • On clicking the link, you will be directed to a page where you will see name of the IAN member and the position for which the member has submitted a nomination.
  • To approve the candidature, click on APPROVE option.
  • You will receive an OTP on your mobile by SMS as well as by email
  • please enter this 6-digit OTP and click on Submit
  • A message will be displayed that your support for candidature has been successfully submitted.
